Ribbon Tilda

Good Morning

Today I would like to share a card with you that I made with one of my very first Tilda stamps.  Ribbon Tilda.  Tilda is coloured with my beloved copic markers and the papers that is accompanying Tilda is from Bo Bunny and it is the Smoochable collection.

A close-up of Tilda.

Thank you for taking the time to read my very quick post.  Have a great day.

Pale Pinks

Good Morning

Today is my best friends birthday and I made this card for her over the weekend.  I really love the way that all the different pinks came together.

The majority of the flowers were white, I used my Copics to colour them end then I added the pearls or gems.

The filigree chipboard corner was covered with glitter and then I added some little gems, just to add to the bling.

I have already given the card to my friend and she just absolutely loves it.

From the end of this week, my blog will unfortunately have to take a bit of a backseat as the moving company will be at our house next week Tuesday to pick up the furniture for the big move to Cape Town.  I have made a few cards that I will share until I go down myself on the 24th.  After that I am not sure when I will be online as we will be staying with family and all our stuff is going into storage until we have find a suitable house to buy.  I have however put the essential paper crafting stuff in a huge bin and once I am set up I will hopefully be able to create some cards again.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and I hope that you will have an awesome day.

Hugs,
Marika

Purple Butterfly Tilda

Good Afternoon

I made this card over the weekend with the intention of putting it on my blog on Tuesday.  But in between packing for the move, looking after the kids and people coming around to look at the house, I completely forgot that I even made this.  So here is my card.

I am sorry today seems to be one of those days where my photos are imported, but it is not the right way up and for the life of me I cannot fix it.  So my apologies. I think maybe it is time for a new camera.  I coloured Tilda with my copics and then added some glitter to her wings.

I love to colour her hair with the greys and black copics.  I really need to practise to get the blond colour combination right.

The flowers I used was bought at a factory shop that specialises in making handmade paper, the use all the offcuts to make paper flowers like these.  They are pretty bland, so I had to put something else on them to make them standout.

I am very exited, I bought some new Magnolia stamps last week and they arrived in the post this morning, so I cannot wait to get home to ink some of them up.  I have decided that this afternoon, I will take a break from packing and colour one of my new Magnolia Stamps.

Have a great day and please feel free to leave me a comment, I always love to hear what you think.

Summer Card

Good Morning

I would like to apologise for not posting anything earlier. My cards have been finished since Sunday afternoon, but I just did not seem to have enough time. But here it is.

I wanted to participate in the new Magnolia-licious Challenge, but only after I put my card together did I realise that I was thinking "summer" instead of "spring".  So after all of that I will not be able to take part in the Magnolia-Licious Challenge, but still it was fun making the card.  The Summer sentiment stamp was a gift from a very good blogger friend, Thank You.  I used my copics to colour in my Tilda as usual and then I found this handmade paper that fitted perfectly.

A close-up of the stamp.

Then I added some plain paper flowers as that is so fitting for "summer time".

Thank you for taking the time to read my post.  Here in South Africa we are in the middle of Summer and believe me when I say that I am enjoying it very much.  I do not really like the winter that much as our winters are not very cold, so we tend to dress very hot in the mornings and then during the day when the temperature warms, we feel as if we need to remove some clothes.  So I will be enjoying the rest of the Summer for as long as I can.

Have an awesome day.

Mauve Elf Tilda

Good Morning

I started out this card with the idea of entering it into the Simply Magnolia challenge, but the theme is "RED and /or PINK with WHITE".  After colouring the wings and dress it looked to be more mauve than pink.  So this card turned out to be just for the fun of it.  I had this beautiful paper with butterflies on it and the background colour went so well with the mauve colour of the image.  Because the paper is so beautiful I did not add to many embellishments.

Except for the image, the only embellishments that I added was these butterflies.  They are actually white, but when I tried to colour them with my Copics they turned out to be absolutely stunning.  The smaller butterfly is covered with Glossy Accent.  The other butterfly is raised with some foam strips, just to give it a bit of dept.  I just had to add some gems for a little sparkle.

I used Elf Tilda.  Once again I used my circle die to make it look like she is sitting on the edge.

Here you can see the beautiful background paper, I just could not cover it with any other papers or embellishments.

Even though I started out with the idea of using pinks and whites for this card, I really like the way it turned out.

I am almost on my way home from my half day job (just a bit more to go) and then I will take another stab at trying to make a card for the Simply Magnolia Challenge.

Have a great day.

Hugs,
Marika

Meljens Pastel Challange

Good Morning

Today I would like to share my latest card that I made.  This card was made with a digi image from Meljens designs, you can find it at the Meljens Shop, the image is Fancy Butterfly.

I used this image and coloured it with my copics in all the pastel colours that I had.  I was very happy to find the perfect paper to compliment the image and colouring in my stash.

A close up of the image.

The swirly paper was made with my Cuttlebug embossing folder.  I then added some coloured "stones" (sorry I am not sure what they are called - so if you leave a comment and know what they are called, I will really appreciate it).

I will be entering this card for the latest Meljens Challange - Pastels. It is the first time that I will be entering one of their challenges.  This is also the first time (I think) that I have posted a card with a digi image.  I love the fact that digi images are immediately available after you have purchased them as the postage is sometimes very expensive and not to reliable.  But nothing beats the feeling of holding an actual stamp in your hands.

Now enough of my blabbering, I hope that you will all have an awesome day and that you will have plenty of time to craft to your hearts content.

Hugs,
Marika

Pink and Blue Tilda

Good Morning

I am so excited today, my dear hubby will be flying in from Cape Town for the weekend - he has been there since the beginning of the year, we will be joining him there at the end of March when we move down there permanently.  So the excitement level in our house this morning is very, very high.  The kids are so excited that their daddy is coming home, although they are disappointed that he will only be there for 2 sleeps before he has to go back.

But anyhow, enough of that.  I thought I better do a post today as I might not have time over the weekend.  So here she is, my little Pink and Blue Tilda.  The border is a Nellie Snellen die, it is the very first time that I did a complete border and I must say, it took me some time,  I had to figure out just how I was going to put it together.  But I absolutely love the end result.  It ended up a bit to big to actually give me space to do anything more on the card.

My Tilda is coloured with copics once again and I just had to try the blackish hair again.

The flower brads on the side goes so well with my paper.

I would like to thank all of the ladies who visits my blog and leaves me the lovely comments.  I love to get feedback.  Please enjoy your weekend and "see" you all next week.

Hugs,
Marika

Centre Step Card

Good Morning

What a beautiful day and with the month of February here, I am a very happy girl, no it does not have anything to do with the fact that it is almost Valentines day.  My hubby and me do not really celebrate Valentines day, but we do have a very special day that we celebrate.  We celebrate our wedding anniversary on the 15th of February - and this year it will be 9 years.

But I do love to make cards for Valentines day and here is my newest card.  This is a centre step card, a new favourite of mine, I must say I love the dimension that it has.

I used some pearls to make swirls and both the sides.

My Tilda was coloured with copics and it is the first time that I coloured her hair in this dark a shade. I love the colour combination of pink and green, it goes so well with the flowers that I had in my stash.

I will enter this card into the following challenges:

Thank you to everybody for coming over here to read my post, I really do love to hear from you, so please leave me a comment and become a follower.

Totally Gorjuss

Good Morning

I would like to share my new card with you, I will enter it into the Totally Gorjuss challenge for this week.  The challenge is to make a K.I.S.S card! That's a Keep It Simple Silly card.  It was great fun as this card did not take a whole lot of time to make, but I must say that I do miss all the extra embellishments and so on.

I used my oval scollop's spellbinder die to cut the base card.  The red scollop's cutout was from a RAK in 2011.  I though that the stamp was a Molly Bloom, but after consulting the Internet, it does not seem to be a Molly Bloom.  So if you do know what stamp this is, please leave me a comment.

A close up of the image.  I used my copics to colour this beautiful stamp.

Thank you for staying and reading my post, please leave a comment, I do really appreciate your comments and if you would like, I will really like it if you become a follower.

Have a great day.

Blue and Purple

Good Morning

What a lovely day it is here in Gauteng, the sun is shinning and the sky is a lovely blue.

I hope that everybody have settled in nicely into 2012 and thus far everybody is having a great time.  I am back at work, but lucky for me I am only working half days now.

My card I would like to share with you today is a Magnolia Image that you have seen me colour before.  As I only have 2 Magnolia stamps on my name, you will still see me colouring this Tilda a lot more.  I do apologise for that.

This is an easel card, also a first for me, but I do really loved the way this card is constructed.

Pretty pink and purple flowers.

My Tilda with some sparkling hearts.

The paper that I used is paper that I got from a very dear friend.  Thank you Sharon.

And that is it for today.  I am so happy it is Friday and that means that I can do some crafting over the weekend.  I wish a blessed weekend to you all.

Hugs,
Marika

Welcome to my first blog posting.

I would like to welcome you to my blog.  I am stil very new to the whole blogging scene, so please excuse any and all mistakes that I might make.  Any and all comments will be appreciated.

Here is a Magnolia card that I made.  This was my very first Magnolia card ever and it is also the very first time that I have done an image that was completly colored with Copic markers.
This image is a Magnolia image that my very good blogging friend Sharon from http://sharonskardzkorner.blogspot.com/ have sent me.  Thank you Sharon.

This is the completed card, not quite sure why the image is not upright, as I have tried to rotate it, the quality of the photo is not so good either, but unfortunatly I have given the card away with out taking another photo.

Thank you for sharing my first post with me, hopefully I will get better.
Have an awsome day.
Hugs,
Marika
