PINK TILDA ICE/BALLET PRINCESS
Good Morning to all my Crafting Friends
Here in the usually sunny South Africa, more precisely Pretoria, we are experiencing a few days of over cast weather and after the very hot days that we had, it is so nice to have the cooler weather. I must admit, I love Spring and Summer, but I love weather like this even more. It is ideal crafting weather, not to hot and not to cold and should there be rain falling down, that is even better.
Now for my card. I will enter this card into the Magnolia-licious Challange. This is the first time that I have coloured the image and then cut it out with a Spellbinder die with a piece of the image that is "hanging out". I was a bit unsure of how to do this, but I am very happy with the result.
The scalloped "silver" circle is made from a piece of "material" like paper that is used in the Air Conditioning industry. This is something that I received from a gent that is working with me and he knows that I love things like that - he knew that somewhere, sometime I will have use of it. I just loved the way it worked out.
My Card with Pink Tilda ice / ballet princess. I have not coloured her in pink (as her name suggests), but I love the red and blue colour combination.
This is a close up of Tilda.
The dragon fly is a peel-off, I coulered it with a red marker, then I used Blue and Red gems on the body and little pearls on the wings.
I hope that you will all have a wonderful day and many, many inspiring ideas. I must apologize for the shadows in my photos, they do not look as good as usual, but I forgot to take the photos at home and I really wanted to post this post this morning and here at work the lighting is not so very good.
Hugs,
Marika

A Big Thank you gift to a very special friend
Good evening
I have been looking forward to post this post for a while, but seeing that it was a gift to the person that actually got me to start blogging, I had to wait for the parcel to actually arrive. Today was the day, she eventually got it - our Postal Service here in South Africa have the tendency to really take it's time.
But like I said, she got it. I just have to thank you once again for all the help, encouragement and answering of silly questions - A Big, Big Thank You. You are just amazing Sharon, I do appreciate everything!!!!
I am not sure if I have mentioned it before, but I love to recycle any old box or tin or actually anything that can be "revamped". I then love to give this as a gift to a person - it always seem to be more special. So this is precisely what I have done, I "revamped" an old Justin gift box.

This is what the box looked like before.
And this is what it looked like after I worked on it a bit.
A side view. The paper that I used is a new favourite of mine - First Edition Paper and this is the New Leaf paper pad. I just love the colours.
And of course I had to make a card to go with it.
Tilda Sparkles.
That is enough for now. Thank you for staying and reading to the end of my post. The weekend is almost over and tomorrow it is back to work. I need to start collecting big boxes as I need to start to pack for the big move down to Cape Town. I have a few movers who will be coming out to the house to give me quotes to move the furniture and stuff. I am hoping that I will get at least one good quote between the lot.
I hope that you will enjoy the rest of your Sunday evening. Keep well and God Bless.
Hugs,
Marika
