Good Morning
I am back, probably a few kg heavier as Christmas is now over and we have had a very nice time, lots of eating and lots of presents.
I am sorry for not posting for a while, but with all the Christmas planning, buying gifts and keeping the kids happy and off course the computer decided to crash, time have been very limited. Thank you to Dear Hubby for fixing the computer. I will miss him a lot as he will be leaving for Cape Town in a few days to start his new job.
I would like to share a card with you that I have made for some of our family member who have just returned from holiday, to a house that have been broken in to, for the second time in about a month. I just had to make a card to tell them that they are in our thoughts as they are a bit afraid off being at home, especially after the armed robbery (the first break-in). When things like this happen I loose a lot of faith in our society, but we just have to pick up the pieces and carry on.
I made this card with my very first Magnolia stamp that I can now call my own. I have a total of 2 Magnolia stamps that is now in my personal collection of stamps and I must say that I am very, very happy about that fact. Hopefully I can add to my stamp collection soon.
This Magnolia stamp is Ribbon Tilda. The wording was a rub-on that I bought at a local craft shop and it says " I know that happiness is in the little things".
I will post another Tilda card tomorrow, it will be with the other Magnolia stamp that I have bought - Tilda sparkles.
Have an awesome day.
Hugs,
Marika

A Christmas Gift for my best friend!
Good Morning
I am so very excited...... I will officially be on leave in about 4 hours from now. Yippee.
I would like to share a box with you that I have made for my best friend for Christmas. I made this box from scratch, I started with a piece of chipboard, put the measurements down on it and the started putting it together. Since I have only started to blog about 4 days ago, I did not take any pictures of my little project as I went along. But I have taken enough pictures to show you the result.
There are quite a few photos as I just absolutely had to get a picture of each side, they all looks different. The main theme for the box was Magnolias, as I just absolutely adore them. I will also enter this project of mine for a challenge, but first I will need to "ask a friend" on how to do this.
When I saw this cross in the Christmas decoration department of the Checkers, I knew that I had to buy it and add it to the box.
A side view of the 2 sides.
The other side, with a sweet Magnolia image, colored in one of my favourite colors - turquoise.
The other side of the box, I covered this side with some handmade purple paper, then I covered it with modge podge and added some glitter to it before it could dry.

The top of the box. My friends name is Marilyn, therefor the M. I have used on old bottle top and glued the initial M in it and then filled it with some glaze.
A close up of the M.
This is the one side of the box.

The completed box with the lid on. I filled the box with hand made cards that my friend can hand out to other members of her family.
The cards were all made by me and I will share them with you at a later stage.
Have an awesome day as mine will be just great, starting with me going on leave. We will be staying home this year as dear hubby is starting a new job on the 3rd of January 2012...... in the Cape and hopefully we will be joining him in a month or two.

Boxes filled with sweets
Good Morning all my crafty friends.
What a beautiful day, the sun is shining and I will be on leave in about .......... oh say 2 sleeps. I can not wait. I will be doing everything that I enjoy and that includes, sometimes just doing nothing or just watching a movie. But there will definitely be some crafting done.
Today I want to share some boxes that I made for a church bazaar - now for the ones that do not know what that is, it is a function or get together that is held at your church where you make and donate anything from vegetables to cake to old books, etc. The church then sells these items and uses the money towards the church and it's members.
Now for the actual post. I made these boxes using a sizzix die, then I embellished the boxes with what ever I felt like, there was no real theme. Then the boxes was filled with some fudge and some was filled with coconut ice.
Thank you and have a fun filled day.
Hugs,
Marika

Welcome to my first blog posting.
I would like to welcome you to my blog. I am stil very new to the whole blogging scene, so please excuse any and all mistakes that I might make. Any and all comments will be appreciated.
Here is a Magnolia card that I made. This was my very first Magnolia card ever and it is also the very first time that I have done an image that was completly colored with Copic markers.
This is the completed card, not quite sure why the image is not upright, as I have tried to rotate it, the quality of the photo is not so good either, but unfortunatly I have given the card away with out taking another photo.
Thank you for sharing my first post with me, hopefully I will get better.
Have an awsome day.
Hugs,
Marika
